A recent Burst Media survey of college students 18-24, found that—surprise!—college students use the Internet—A LOT!
Within this group, those who consumed more than 6 hours of media a week did so more online than with any other medium.
Per week, 33% spent more than 10 hours online and 19.6% spent more than 20 hours online. Aside from downloading music (53.3%) and doing school/work activities (51.7%), what are they doing online? 44.2% are reading local/national/international news, while 42.6% are streaming video content.
Now that college life is in full swing again, more students will be going online to get the latest news and information. This year, students from over 550 schools within mtvU’s College Publisher Network will be able to visit their campus paper online and watch video through a ROO powered player.
As a former Knight, I’m partial to the University of Central Florida, so check out the ROO-powered player here.
